When Israel was defeated by Babylon, Jeremiah lamented their condition saying, “The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they regarded as clay pots?” Though often the world scorns and degrades God’s people, God sees us as valuable and precious, like gold. We need to see ourselves as He sees us.
