Discover Your Spiritual Identity!

on Sep 30, 2017 | OGI Mike |

The Bible covers five primary subjects:

     1. Who God is
     2. Who we are
     3. What He will do for us
     4. What we are called to do for Him
     5. Our destiny together

There are definitely other themes from Genesis to Revelation, but these are the five big ones. Many books have been written about #1 (Who God is), especially books exploring the names and titles that belong to the Creator. Each one pulls back the veil on His character and reveals some manner in which He will move for those who abide in a covenant relationship with Him. I have about five books in my library on this single subject and I refer to them often.

Back around 1985, God spoke to my heart that it would be just as important for believers to know their names and titles as revealed in God's Word. I sensed that in a similar way, it would pull back the veil on our spiritual identity: who we are and what we are called to do as sons and daughters of God. To my great surprise, no books were available on this subject—so I just scoured the Word of God for many years, and was awed to find over 1,000 names and titles God has used to describe His people. I realized I had found a mother lode, a primary vein of gold in the Bible. Each individual title belonging to believers appeared like another gleaming nugget, peeking through the soil, reflecting the light of who we are in Christ. Consider this list of just 20 names—how amazing it is that God has named you:

· The Apple of His Eye—Deuteronomy 32:10
· Ambassadors for Christ—2 Corinthians 5:20
· His Anointed—Psalms 28:8
· The Bride—Revelation 21:9
· The Called of Jesus Christ—Romans 1:6
· The Church—Acts 2:47
· Children of Abraham—Galatians 3:7
· Children of the Resurrection—Luke 20:36
· Disciples—Matthew 5:1
· The Elect—Colossians 3:12
· General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn—Hebrews 12:23
· Heirs of God—Romans 8:16-17
· The Light of the World—Matthew 5:14
· More Than Conquerors—Romans 8:37
· The Redeemed—Psalms 107:2
· A Royal Priesthood—1 Peter 2:9
· The Salt of the Earth—Matthew 5:13
· The Strong—Isaiah 53:12
· True Worshipers—John 4:23
· Vessels of Mercy—Romans 9:22-23

And the list goes on and on.

Of course, it's far more powerful when we go beyond just "knowing" our God-given names and titles and actually start "manifesting" in our daily lives what they reveal.

I believe with all my heart that my book titled, "WHO AM I? Dynamic Declarations of Who You Are in Christ" will be a spiritual awakening for you. Fifty-two names for God's people are featured in the book, with short, easy-to-read explanations and a "dynamic declaration" that you can quote as you seize your inheritance and claim your status in the kingdom of God.

FOR PERSONAL STUDY

Because it contains 52 titles, this new offering for the body of Christ is perfect for a year-long journey in the Word of God (one title a week). It can be used for personal study, family devotions, Sunday school sessions, home Bible studies, home schooling and Bible college classes. A school semester is usually 13-weeks long. So WHO AM I? can be divided into four 13-week sessions.
